Join the Gupta Research Group

We are seeking postdoctoral researchers with a strong background in computational materials science. Applicants should have experience in one or more areas including density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD), machine-learning-based interatomic potentials, and transport modeling.

We are particularly interested in researchers who are excited to develop and apply computational methods to problems spanning two-dimensional materials, predictive synthesis, defects, interfaces, quantum materials, and emerging electronic technologies.

We welcome applications from students interested in computational materials science, quantum materials, predictive/computational synthesis science, defects, interfaces, and device physics.

Prior research experience in computational materials science or related computational methods is preferred but not required. We value strong fundamentals, curiosity, and an interest in developing computational approaches to materials problems.

UCF undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience in computational materials science and related areas are encouraged to get in touch.

Potential projects will depend on the student's interests, background, and the group's ongoing research.
